  2. APPENDIX ? -- How to run RBBS-PC CPC15-1A with 14-1x DOORWARE Programs

  5. To those who have written comments in regards to our DOORWARE Programs, we
  6. would like to thank you and hope that we can  continue  developing more of
  7. out DOORWARE Programs in the future.
  8.  
  9. Due to the many changes made in RBBS-PC  CPC15-1A we must also provide new
  10. versions of our  DOORWARE Programs.  However the new 15.1A versions of the
  11. software will not be available  until  early  April.  We are not only make
  12. the programs compatible with RBBS-PC CPC15-1A but are also adding many new
  13. enhancements to them.  Like:  Color, Music, File Locking, and more ...
  14.  
  15. RBBS-PC  CPC15-1A  really has come a long way since CPC14-1D.  And we hope
  16. that you will update to the new version as soon as possible.  But in doing
  17. so you would not be able to run our  DOORWARE Programs easily.  So, I have
  18. taken the time get you around this problem until the new 15.1A versions of
  19. the DOORWARE Programs are available.  Hopefully this will help you in that
  20. task:

  22. You will need to put all of the  DOORWARE  Programs  and  your RBBS-PC.DEF
  23. file(s)  from  RBBS-PC  CPC14-1D  into  their  own  subdirectory  or  on a
  24. different  drive  of  your  system.  Edit  your  DOORS  Batch file(s) that
  25. RBBS-PC  invokes  to change to the subdirectory or drive letter, then have
  26. it run the  DOORWARE  Program, and then have the batch file change back to
  27. the RBBS-PC default directory or drive letter.

  36. I would  also  like  to  point  out  at this time that the Batch files for
  37. DOORS in RBBS-PC  CPC15-1A have changed a little bit.  As you can see from
  38. the  above  example  of  GAMES.BAT, it is  no  longer  necessary  to  have
  39. different  Batch  files  for  each  RBBS-PC  Node.  RBBS-PC now passes the
  40. Node ID  to  the  Batch  file.  And  the  other  change is it is no longer
  41. necessary  to  have  the  DOORS  Batch file re-invoke the RBBS Batch file.
  42. This will be taken care of by  RBBS-PC  loading  a  COMMAND  Processor  to
  43. invoke the DOORS Batch file.

  45. Be sure to remember to make the changes to all of your  DOORS  Batch files
  46. and to keep your  RBBS-PC.DEF  file(s)  from  RBBS-PC CPC14-1D.  If you do
  47. not have the  .DEF  file(s)  from RBBS-PC CPC14-1D, hang in there April is
  48. not that far away.
